Ms. Anjali Makhija has been appointed as a trustee and chief executive officer of S M Sehgal Foundation in May 2022. Anjali has been with the foundation since 2000 and has worked in several capacities. She holds a master's in social work (Delhi School of Social Work), economics degree (Delhi Univ.), Leadership Foundational Principles certificate course by HarvardX. She is also a Certified Corporate Director, Institute of Directors (IOD), Life Member of National Association of Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI), member of Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), and Internal Committee member for Marks and Spencer India Sourcing Office. Walmart Foundation and S M Sehgal Foundation Join Hands for Project on "Bolstering Farmer Producer Organizations in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka" S M Sehgal Foundation announced the implementation of a two-year project on May 18, 2022, on “Bolstering Farmer Producer Organizations in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka” with philanthropic grant funding from the Walmart Foundation. The project will directly impact ten FPOs in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka and reach out to 5,000 smallholder farmers (FPO members) and a population of 25,000 people (direct family members of FPO members). Crossing Borders team visit Crossing Borders (CB) representatives, Mr. Claus Hedegaard-Jensen (development consultant, Denmark) and Mr. Omar Al Sayed (head of Communications) visited Sehgal Foundation office and project locations in Muzaffarpur district, Bihar, from May 16–20, 2022. The project, "Women’s Empowerment in Local Development" is being implemented in twenty villages with support from CB, and funded by CISU. The team visited project progress on the ground and interacted with beneficiaries.

Celebration of Press Freedom Day S M Sehgal Foundation, through its community radio Alfaz-e-Mewat FM 107.8, celebrated World Press Freedom Day on May 3, 2022, with a special podcast launch. The theme of this year was “Journalism Under Digital Siege.” The podcast featured Ms. Pooja O. Presentation on Agile Work Environments S M Sehgal Foundation's CEO, Ms. Anjali Makhija, and senior manager, Human Resources, Ms. Meenakshi Mrinalini, presented information about the collaborative work culture for sustainable NGOs at the 49th IFTDO Conference and Exhibition, May 19–21, 2022, in Delhi. They shared about the values and management principles followed by the foundation team, which promote teamwork and maintain work agility.

Training program on Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage In partnership with CAWST, S M Sehgal Foundation concluded a three-day training workshop on Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage & WASH Behavior Change from May 18–20. Participants learned about WASH, safe drinking water access, and community behavior change toward healthy living.
